This is an Arts and Education consultancy specialising in Disability and Deaf Arts and Community Arts. SunSurfer is an umbrella organisation where a whole range of projects are developed and delivered. The key contact for this site is Mickey Fellowes but we can assemble a team to deliver a range of arts or arts education projects.
We can offer:
Mickey Fellowes spent 5+ years as Training & Development Officer with North West Disability Arts Forum devising, developing and delivering FE and HE accredited courses with an 89% graduation rate. Trained over 100 people in arts workshop skills, performing arts, visual arts and arts business skills from a range of backgrounds and with diverse impairments, creating new oportunities for their lives and careers.
Drama workshop leader trained with Roger Hill, Chris Johnston, Horse and Bamboo (masks and high head African masks), New Breed and others. Devised, delivered and managed build-a-peformance projects where over 2 weeks a performance was devised by an inexperienced group.
Training disabled/non-disabled and D/deaf arts practitioners in the skills to run creative workshops (Visual artists, Actors, Musicians, Writers etc.). For NWDAF Mickey Fellowes ran the joint NWDAF/LIPA HE accredited workshop leaders course annually from 1998-2003.
I have negotiated, devised programmes and projects and written the applications that brought in over £250,000. I have managed programmes of work to the budgets and written effective reports and evaluation.
For HearFirst I have trained staff in Disability Equality from Rochdale, Rossendale and Oldham Councils (Birmingham CC in April). Independently I trained the Arts Council Fellowship programme and Cultural Diversity Training for ACME studios London.
