Building a community

How do we build a community of disabled and deaf people in the arts?  How do we create an audience for Disability and Deaf arts and how do we bring along a new generation of artists and creators?

Active Audiences

This is what Audience Development does.  Actively encouraging disabled and deaf people to participate in the arts.  To think and talk about the arts and create their own art as well as experiencing the creations of others.

Audience Development Projects

We have worked on a range of audience development projects.  For Arts About Manchester (AAM) (now renamed and working throughout the North West as All About Audiences) we worked on the In Touch project.  Following a great idea from Ben Le Jeune the Marketing Services Manager we created the Accessible Events Calendar North West to provide a single point of information for disabled and deaf people to find accessible arts and cultural events.

Accessible Event Promotions

Working with colleagues in London and the North West we have set up a new not for profit company called Accessible Event Promotions and we will be developing two websites to promote accessible events in London and the North West.
