Creation of a new not for profit business Accessible Event Promotions
This is a major piece of work. We are establishing a company and working out how we can make a living and make a major difference to the lives of disabled and deaf people. We are working in the London and the North West. The company is now established and we are developing, consulting and planning with possible partners and funders.
Update: As of November 2010 our board meeting has decided that we will focus on the North West first and develop a London project at a later date. We have also successfully achieved an UnLtd Better Net award from Nominet. We are using the money to start out a rough North West pilot project.
Accessible Event Promotions is designed so that people who need particular access to events such as audio description or BSL interpretation. Have one central place to find this information. We are working broadly and intend to offer information about accessible

Mike Little at Accessible Event Promotions Company launch London December 2009
Accessible Event Promotions is led by five Directors.
- Mickey Fellowes
- Kathy O’Brien
- Alison Jones
- Judith Garman
- Mike Little
Kathy O’Brien is Chair of Theatre Peckham and an experienced London Arts Manager with a passion for community participation in Arts and Culture.
Mike Little is our Director of Systems. He is co-founder of WordPress, designer of our websites and this website. He is passionate about developing the voice of communities.
Judith Garman is an Accessibility and Usability Consultant who has worked with a range of clients including HSBC, Sony Ericsson, Abilitynet and the BBC. She is committed to making technology accessible and usable for everyone.
Alison Jones needs no introduction from me! She was one of the key members of DaDa Liverpool (formerly North West Disability Arts Forum) over the past 12 years. As Arts Manager she devised, developed, fundraised and delivered a whole range of projects. Her arts expertise and experience of visual impairment is helping us to provide a full service to Blind and visually impaired people.
We also have the support of Maria Oshodi, Omeima Mudawi and Charlotte Moulton-Thomas. We are still developing our service due to the technological costs of running this project. We have started discussions with the Arts Council and applied for funding from Umbro Industries, UnLtd and others. We hope to launch our services for visually impaired, Deaf and hard of hearing people in Greater London and the North West over the next six months. Our apologies that this is taking a long time but we are all working for free while trying to raise the funding to provide this service. We are also discussing with All About Audiences (formerly Arts About Manchester) about working in partnership with them in the North West.
For the North West we plan:

For London we are planning two websites:
These are not yet live – please bear with us. We plan to launch shortly.
